Lethal hip-drops
Dec. 17th, 2007 10:35 amSo, yes, apparently my hip-drops are a little too forceful, and repeating them all on my left hip as I practiced for the recital kind of...caused a bunch of microtears in the muscle where it is connected to my hip bone. Way to go, me.
I've been given pills for pain, medicinal rub, and instructions to ease off the hip for the next two weeks. That means no dance class this week, and maybe next week, too (although I might be able to go if I take it super-easy and don't extend my hips at all). It also means, however, that the doctor told me to go home and take it easy today.
I called school on the slow, slow walk back from the clinic, and apologized. Now I'm going to rinse out the tub, heat a bath, and wear my fuzziest fleece pants.
