I'm making carrot cakes for this evening's Christmas/turkey/vacation dinner, and everything smells of vanilla and cinnamon and sheer goodness. Much thanks to![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
blockrockinbeat, for the amazing recipe. Shun liked it so much when I made it last summer, he specifically requested it for a Christmas present ^_^
I am very slowly doing some cleaning around the apartment. The last month has been a nightmare of business, and it feels like a mess-bomb went off in here. Winter is the time for 大掃除 (oosouji, or housecleaning), which is similar to Spring Cleaning. It's supposed to be done before the New Year, and I'm glad to have the opportunity to just clean the whole place up.
Tomorrow is a public holiday, celebrating the Emperor's birthday. Christmas looks to be a fairly dull day for me, but will hopefully make it out to the post office to mail a package off to30toseoul in Antarctica (will it make it before the last mail drop? who can say) and maybe go shopping for everyone's New Year's presents (I couldn't go shopping before Christmas, so everyone is getting mid-January gifts).
