I got pretty sick on Friday of last week, but chalked it up to the stress of having two major funding deadlines that day that I *just barely* managed to meet, and then my boss throwing something else my way 20 minutes before work finished. One of the applications was not a problem (we have a great new Rec Manager who did so much work toward it), but the other one was something of a clusterfuck from start to finish.

I thought, when I got home and fell asleep on the landing for about half an hour, that it was a direct result of my having spent the day in a state of Hulk-rage/anxiety. But then came Saturday...

All I can say about Saturday is that I spent it in bed, and every time I moved I wanted to vomit.

Sunday was more of the same, but I thought I was feeling a bit better that evening. So I went to work on Monday, because we were having Ops Manager interviews all day, and I needed to be there. That was a mistake.

The headache that wouldn't go away kept getting worse and worse, and I was nauseated and cold. I saw my reflection in the mirror, and I was startled. I am pretty pale to begin with (and living with very little sun for 6 months of the year doesn't help that), but I looked like what colour I have had been leached out of me. Even my lips were looking white.

I made it through three of the four interviews, and then I had to bail. I didn't think throwing up on the last guy would make a very good impression. So I went home...and I slept for 16 hours. I think I woke up a couple of times (I remember staring at the moon in the kitchen), but other than that - BAM! Sleep spell!

Took yesterday as a sick day, and now am late for work today. I called them to let them know I would be in late, as I want to be sure I'm up to the task. No sense going in and then just having to leave again. And of course my tiny cat is now curled up on my lap, demanding that I stay where I am until he finishes his first of many naps.
